What the hell is the subgenius saying here?

Hi, I’m the President, and I think this health care bill should be passed. After all, it’s no worse than Medicare and Social Security. I mean, those programs aren’t bankrupt and ruining the federal budget, are they? They’re not so bad that they are focused on in EVERY SINGLE FUCKING ELECTION, are they? I mean, we already have those shackles about the wrists and ankles of our children who will never see the benefit of what they’re paying in to, so why now weigh them down with the nice heavy yoke of this new injustice.

I urge the morons in DC to take this learned one’s advice and remember history. Remember how the votes of those idiots for FDR’s policies has damaged our present and future, perhaps unrecoverably.

How to Get Inside a Guy’s Mind? Really? Wow. I hope women don’t actually believe any of this. This is more like “What Women Think Men Actually Mean When They Speak.” Sure, there are some guys out there who don’t say what they mean. I think they’re called “gay”. What the hell’s this bit about “guys aren’t the best at articulating what they’re thinking”? If we want to voice it, we do. There’s no secret code. Don’t try to interpret what we mean when we say something. We say what we mean. It’s women who cannot speak without some damn decoder ring and five ciphers to uncover the secret meaning of what comes out of their pieholes. Seriously, we did not need the Navajo Codetalkers, we could just have used women.

You know the old rub about how the person who’s doing the cheating is the one most suspicious of being cheated on? It’s the same damn symptom here. Women cannot speak without using secret codes and handshakes and signals and passphrases, so they think men are the same way. We are perfectly capable of articulating what we’re feeling, we just don’t want to. It’s not our thing. Accept it. Consider number 3 in the list at the link to be the worst offender in the list. Trust me, no man actually thinks be messed up any woman but good. She might have gotten upset, but that’s usually caused by the woman’s inability to be rational and trust that a guy means the actual words that come out of his head. We have real things to worry about instead of all your lame-ass, faulty translations.

Oh, and there’s really only one activity that men want to engage in for bonding with their partner and it sure as hell ain’t conversation. Women just get upset when we tell them that’s what we want so we can get on with our day already. We have no difficulty articulating what we’re thinking. We just don’t want to. Arguments start when you niggle at us and dig and nag and annoy and pester until we leave and take our shit with us. We just don’t have to put up with it. But don’t worry, you can tell your friends how closed-off we were and how much better you are without us. We’ll get by.

Wow, this guy might be correct, but he’s clearly not done his homework. This issue has been noted and accounted for in the navigational deflector that all starships carry for just this reason (I have read at least two Star Trek novels that refer to this very problem and how the navigational deflectors solved it). He’s not breaking new ground, he’s just grinding up old hash. If he wants to cite something that’s impractical, the FIRST thing he should address is the artificial gravity all starships possess and the inertial dampeners that keep the people from going to pulp when engaging enormous speeds which would occur prior to any random encounters with space debris. First things first. Of course, this choad got an actual article published about him. I have to write my own…

It occurred to me that our journalists are even more timid and worthless than they were in my youth. More so, actually, when it comes down to it. Here’s why: They keep calling the persons and groups planting bombs and making suicide attacks and firing randomly targeted rockets and all the other cowardly shit they do by the wrong names. These persons and groups are not “insurgents” or “militants” or even “extremists”. These persons are terrorists. They are assholes. They are cowards. Don’t sugarcoat things, don’t go easy on them. Call it like it is. Are you worried about a libel suit? Please. After all, they’d have to have a set of balls in the first place to come out of their caves to file a lawsuit. Or they’d have to hijack a plane to get to a real country even to find you. Please don’t legitimize them or their actions any longer by calling them anything other than what they truly are. They’re losers, wretches, scum. No more “insurgency” crap. No more “militants” nonsense. No more “extremist” horseshit. Please.

Gotta say that I have no problem with this action by the government official. Hell, even without the religious connotations, removing bacon from the menu should be a damn capital offense! As for the oppressive, reactionary, appease-us-or-we’ll-suicide-bomb-your-discos (or appease-us-or-we’ll-kidnap-you-and-saw-your-head-off-with-a-pocket-knife) whackjobs, they can suck it. You know, without the deliciousness of bacon in their lives, no wonder they’re all so willing to strap explosives to themselves.

Pretty soon we’ll be the ones stuck in the water with them on land in our place! Maybe we should call the Japanese whaling fleet to make a quick stopover and cow these beasts into submission.

Oh for God’s sake. If people cannot survive an encounter with a hot dog, then we don’t need them. There are enough stupid people surviving too long thanks to things like airbags and seatbelts being forced upon everyone by law. We sure as hell don’t need to redesign a food product’s shape to save people who clearly are beyond help. Next thing they’ll want to redesign the shape of men’s genitals to stop hookers from choking. Maybe if we didn’t do so much to save the people not worth saving, we’d be a lot better off, eh?

Still the final frontier

Given that I work for the company who made the batteries that powered Hubble all these years (both the original set and the recently-installed second set), I periodically read over the published research. This week saw NASA release a video generated from a series of Hubble photos. Showing two subjects of interest, the images were taken of Saturn during its equinox, so its rings are parallel to our line of sight which allowed viewing Saturn’s northern and southern aurorae. It’s really quite fantastic and something that won’t be possible to see again for another fourteen years (since the photos were taken about a year ago).

Second, NASA noted the twentieth anniversary of receiving this fantastic photo from Voyager I showing Earth as but a tiny speck in the cosmos. Would it have been as notable without the interference effect placing Earth directly in that lighter band?
