It occurred to me that our journalists are even more timid and worthless than they were in my youth. More so, actually, when it comes down to it. Here’s why: They keep calling the persons and groups planting bombs and making suicide attacks and firing randomly targeted rockets and all the other cowardly shit they do by the wrong names. These persons and groups are not “insurgents” or “militants” or even “extremists”. These persons are terrorists. They are assholes. They are cowards. Don’t sugarcoat things, don’t go easy on them. Call it like it is. Are you worried about a libel suit? Please. After all, they’d have to have a set of balls in the first place to come out of their caves to file a lawsuit. Or they’d have to hijack a plane to get to a real country even to find you. Please don’t legitimize them or their actions any longer by calling them anything other than what they truly are. They’re losers, wretches, scum. No more “insurgency” crap. No more “militants” nonsense. No more “extremist” horseshit. Please.

  1. If they were Polish in 1940, they’d be heroes.

    • Not if the Germans had won, surely.

And that’s what’s so annoying about the media’s refusal to use pejoratives for the other side: it amounts to hedging one’s bets. One begins to suspect that hidden under every news anchor’s desk is a sign ready to welcome the new overlords, peace be upon them.

  2. I’m pretty sure the Polish in 1940 didn’t target civilians. Any who did weren’t heroes.

Just because you’re a suicide bomber doesn’t make you a terrorist. Who you aim at matters. If you try to shoot noncombatants, you’re a terrorist. If you try to avoid shooting noncombatants, you’re not.

  3. If “they” were Polish in 1940, “they” would have been doing the Berlin Two-Step and throwing back drinks at the gates to Auschwitz and Treblinka and the other extermination camps, seeing as how “they” are Jew-hating, gay-hating, everyone-but-us-hating moslems, regardless of nationality. They’d have been kissing nazi boots and would have been only too happy to collaborate.
